The Gold Medal winning garden was a collaborative design. The brief was to create a secret world in an overlooked site, passing from formal entertaining areas to a wild forgotten corner. Privacy is achieved trough the use of corten steel blades, hiding and simultaneously revealing aspects of the garden. A narrow rill runs diagonally through the garden unifying and adding movement to the design.
Formal planting provides the framework and backbone to the garden. This offers a contrast with the soft billowing planting which spills onto the gravel areas. The garden is designed in cooler colour combinations which complement the rusted patina of the steel blades.
