I am an award winning landscape designer and horticulturalist with a growing reputation for designing architecturally timeless gardens with elegant and captivating planting schemes.

A synergy of people and places

The projects I undertake vary dramatically from small urban spaces to large private gardens and estates alongside commercial commissions.  Whatever the project, my philosophy is to create bespoke landscapes that form a connection between people and places.  My designs emerge from a collaboration with the client and an informed understanding of the essence of the site.

I’m absolutely committed to sustainability and ecological restoration principles, which are at the heart of my design ethos.

A passion for plants and planting

I deliver a personal approach to every commission, combined with a strong visual sense and an ability to resolve garden problems through design.  My particular passion is for plants and planting.  I draw on a deep horticultural knowledge, in order to experiment with different plant combinations, producing beautiful and site specific planting designs.

Qualified in Garden design and Horticulture

I graduated with a distinction form the Northern School of Garden Design in 2016 after a radical change in career.  I spent 18 months working for Arabella Lennox-Boyd at Gresgarth Hall, Lancashire as a part-time gardener to broaden my horticultural knowledge and practice.  I am a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers.

I graduated in 1990 with a BA (hons) in English Literature and History of Art following which I worked for Christie’s Auctioneers in London for 9 years.
